Temperature-controlled and general freight across Europe

Full loads anywhere on the continent — frozen, chilled, heated or dry, tracked and documented for every kilometre. Scandinavia is the run we make every week; for anywhere else in Europe, just ask.

What we carry

Simpex reefer road train, Thermo King unit on the leading trailer

Frozen, chilled, heated

Fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh fish, cut flowers, deep-frozen goods — anything that will not wait. Our own reefers hold anywhere from −30 °C to +30 °C, set to whatever the consignor specifies.

Full loads (FTL)

Most of what we move is a straightforward full load: palletised dry goods and general commercial cargo, with or without pallet exchange. Same trucks, same experienced drivers, same paperwork discipline — just without the thermostat.

ADR dangerous goods

We carry dangerous goods under ADR, with trained drivers and plated vehicles. Send the UN number and the packing group with your enquiry and you will get a straight yes or no, not a maybe.

Temperature under control. Safety on every kilometre.

From fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh fish and cut flowers to deep-frozen goods, we carry anything that needs its temperature held — and held to the figure you give us, not the one that suits the trailer.

  • 66 pallet spaces — with the second deck in, for loads that run out of floor long before they run out of weight.
  • Double-deck loading — two levels in the same trailer, so a light and bulky load is not paying freight on air.
  • 2.49 m wide inside — which is what Danish flower trolleys need — two rows side by side, with no wasted metre down the middle.
  • Your figure, not ours — anywhere from −30 °C to +30 °C, set to whatever the consignor specifies, and recorded for the whole journey.

From the south of Europe to the north, we protect the quality of your goods and deliver them with the care they deserve.

You can see the temperature. So can we.

Every trailer reports its position and its cargo temperature back to us continuously. Two sensors per trailer, logged as often as every ten minutes, for the whole trip.

  • Two-zone temperature logging — as often as every ten minutes, from loading to delivery.
  • Live position — we can tell you where your load is without phoning the driver.
  • A record you can keep — the full temperature history for your load, on request, as proof for your own customer.
  • Photographed paperwork — the driver photographs the signed CMR at the ramp, so it reaches the office the same hour rather than next week.

This is why we can say the cold chain held, instead of hoping it did.

Temperature log for one load: half-hourly readings holding between minus 2 and plus 2 degrees

A real load, 28 August: half-hourly readings holding between −2 °C and +2 °C for the whole run. The second sensor on that trailer is left out on purpose — it reads the evaporator, cycles across seven degrees, and means nothing to a customer.

Where every vehicle is, right now — Spain to northern Norway on one screen. This is what the office works from.

On the road

Two moments from a normal working day. The same trucks, the same drivers, the same livery you will see at your loading bay.

Where we run

We run the whole length of Europe — from Greece, Spain and Italy in the south to Norway and Sweden in the north. The lanes below are the ones we run most often, counted by stops we have actually made this year. They are where we are strongest, not where we stop; if your load goes somewhere that is not on the list, ask us.

Our own trucks, mostly

Seventeen trucks and trailers on our own plates, with three more trucks on order — which is why we can tell you where a load is rather than ringing someone to ask.

Where a trip needs a second vehicle we use the same few carriers we have worked with for years, on the same order paperwork and the same documentation discipline.

Every truck in the fleet meets the EURO 6 emission standard — the current one, and the one Europe's low-emission zones are written around. Modern equipment, professional drivers and transport organised properly, from loading to delivery.

Simpex is owner-run. What you write here is read by the person who decides what the trucks do next — it does not go into a queue, and the answer does not have to wait for anyone else.
